An expert has offered advice to caravan insurance policyholders and others regarding choosing a storage facility for a caravan.A spokeswoman for the National Caravan Council (NCC), a trade association for the UK caravan industry, observed that many caravan owners choose to place their caravan or motorhome in a storage facility when it is not in use.”Not only does this mean the vehicle is out of the way, but this can be looked upon favourably by insurers who may even provide generous discounts on the policy premium,” she remarked.”You should, however, choose the site carefully.”To this end, she advised caravan owners to look for a site displaying the logo of CaSSOA (Caravan Storage Site Owners Association).These sites, the expert explained, boast an official register of safe and secure storage sites across the country, adding that you can even search for these particular sites by postcode.
